Brief History of the Re-emergence
The greatest Succession War occured nigh 60 years ago. Dreaded battlemechs marched across worlds. They made swaths of destruction in their wake. The fires they created spread from planet to planet engulfing all in living nightmare.
In its aftermath lay the ruins of countless governments.
Every one of them vied for seat of the First Lord. In the end
all they acheived was their near destruction. Worlds ruined, cities laid waste, and populations decimated by the wanton imperialistic intentions. What technology left usually was scrapped for parts to fix any of the last operational equipment. A dark age of pre-20th century ensued.
30 years after the great War a power emerged. The old
communication syndicate known as Comstar. Some how they
had sheltered a few worlds and managed to come out of the
autrocity barely scathed. In the passing years Comstar
reached out from the homeworld terra. Technology grew and once
again ships travel amongst the stars. They followed a code of preservation as they traveled.
Those ships rarely left comstar space. Every sector non-comstar controlled
was considered unknown and therefore dangerous. Comstar explored as far as the Solaris Waste, Great Void, and the Tukayid Nova.
Ten years ago these explorer crops' vessels encountered other ships of fledgling governments. The code of preservation held the comstar advance. They spilt no blood. No war erupted.
Instead Comstar decided to help the beleagured nation states. Itself would be the mediator between all. Comstar had a significant upper hand this time. Or so they thought.
Over the years Comstar helped bring back these ancient nations. Always thinking they had that upper hand. It wasn't until 4 years ago that comstar came to realize their folly. By then though it was to late. Once again the behemoth battlemechs marched again out of the ruins. But war did not erupt yet again.
With news of the impending danger and knowing he nolonger controlled the situation the comstar Prefect stepped down from his post. The governors elected a new Prefect. The first Prefect born outside of the Comstar region. His name, Roland Symetrious.
Roland's first act as Prefect was to let loose ROM upon the new Nations.
